Well its official in less than 24 hours I will be sailing far above the ocean at the height of everest. Conveniently enough my favourite show lately has been Evererst: Beyond the Limit. Completely reignited is my desire to climb higher. Check out the trailer for the show:
Back on task though. This has really been a common theme for me. I keep on procrastinating things. By now all copies are made, everything is packed, vaccination started, and now its just the waiting game ( thanks again to all those who helped).
My dad and I went out for breakfast this morning. Humpties. I couldn't help but notice the minimum 3 dollar charge sign. It reminded me of the restaurant across the street from Cheers (the apple barrel maybe?) 24 hours and full of drunks. This morning not necessarily full of drunks but there certainly were a fair share of interesting characters. I had a meat lovers skillet, honestly terrible. I guess thats what to expect.
In my ever going delay of things. I broke my 15 year snap on vaccinations today. I got the first dose of Twinrix. I have 2 more doses packed for my trip. This is actually where the day got interesting. After a 1 hour wait at the walk in, I paid the $30 vaccination fee and was ready to get my injection. The wonderful Nurse Anne, explained to me that following the injection they would like you to sit for another 5-10 minutes to make sure you have no adverse reactions. I laughed about how that never happens to me and I have done tons of blood tests.
Interestingly enough, I was texting with a friend before my exam about low blood pressure, black outs and iron deficiency stuff. The next thing I knew I was in a half asleep almost dreaming. I felt like I was trying to pull my head out from underwater but someone/something was holding my head down. I Zach who never blacks out passed right out. Upon coming too from a tap on the knee from a nurse, I appeared as white as Opening day at Sunshine (conveniently that was today 24 runs open too). As soon as I came too I felt fine immediately but as precaution they gave me orange juice, checked my vitals and made me lie down. Turns out my bodies desire to go hypoglycaemic doesn't pair well with injections. My resting heart rate dropped to 30. After all this I joked around with all the nurses and had a fun time. Adrenaline added to the family health clinic.
It took me a total of 4 hours to pack today. But it's done. I just need to figure out how to pack my suit. Thank you mr. chow.
