Today was a slightly earlier start for me. Last night I went
to bed around 10:30, I was completely gassed at that time. After waking maybe 3
or 4 times because of the heat I eventually climbed out of bed around 8. Note
to self you really do need A/C to sleep, so turn it on.
My first stop for today was a casting for some fashion
photography. The gentleman I met with was awesome. Immediately upon my arrival
he offered water/pop and candy. I jumped on the former as walking has truly
made me sweat a ton and I don’t want to be dehydrated. Shortly after going
through my book, Alex the model from yesterday arrived. This is the 3rd
time we have bumped into each other now. I think she will be quite helpful, as
she has travelled significantly through this line of work.
I have 4 hours to kill before I head to a fitting. This
afternoon I have a fitting for 7 For All Mankind. So I walked around for a bit.
Its crazy the amount of travel stores in the malls. I am talking like 20-30
plus in each mall. Although that was in the Chinatown part of this city. I am
now sitting in the food court of the 7th floor of a mall. I bought a
towel and some snacks at the CareFour grocery store. To my luck I found some
Nature’s Path cereal ($7). For lunch I ended up with a bento box in a hawker centre. 1 cup of
rice, 1 cup of cabbage, 2 orange slices, a fried egg and about 4 ounces of
salmon ($5). I think these first few
days here have been a little more expensive than the remainder will be, buying
some initial groceries, transit pass, etc.
Last night I briefly met my landlord Michelle. I hope to
have a conversation with her tonight about pool and gym access. I need to get a
workout in ASAP. One of the concerns that have come up is that I look a little
younger in person than I do in my photos. I think adding some of my size back
will help.
